Preschool Prep: Post OfficeSaturday, February 2nd at 11:00 a.m.Children ages 3-5 and their caregivers are invited to enjoy fun stories and activities about letters and the post office. Children will explore and learn through play and create a Valentine card to mail to a special person. Registration is required, starting January 12th.
Fancy Nancy Tea Party ExtraordinaireSaturday, February 16th at 2:00 p.m.For grades K and up with a special adult. You are cordially invited to attend a soiree (that means party). Come dressed in your fanciest clothes and enjoy Fancy Nancy activities, crafts, and treats. Parents/guardians must complete a permission slip for their children before the event. Registration required, starting January 26th.
Exploration Station: Caring and SharingWednesday, February 27th at 7:00 p.m.Children ages 3-5 and their caregivers are invited to develop and practice the important skill of sharing through play and hands-on activities. Registration required, starting February 9th.
These Stanleys are ready to travel. They are starting at the library, but are planning to visit many exciting places with their library friends! You can take Stanley along with you, too. If you are planning a trip, stop by the library to pick up a Stanley to take along. We'd love to see your pictures, and we'll put one on our branch's Flickr page! Check it out!
Teen Advisory Group - February Meeting
Saturday, February 9th, 3:00-4:00 PMHelp make the library a cool place for teens – join our Teen Advisory Group! We’ll meet monthly to plan teen programs, discuss books, movies and music, and have snacks! All participants must have a Release and Hold Harmless form signed by a parent or LEGAL guardian prior to the program to have snacks. Stop by the Middleburg Heights Library to pick up a form or call the branch if you have any questions. Sponsored by the Friends of the Middleburg Heights Library. For Teens in grades 6-12. Act Out Against Bullying (Ages 11-18)Wednesday, February 20th, 7:00-7:45 PMThrough participatory theater, Jimmie Woody invites teens to learn the fundamentals to act out bullying scenarios and consider effective responses when confronted with unkind words and actions. Raising Able Boys Tuesday, February 12, 7:00 PM Many boys are struggling in school and are not succeeding like they could. Emotionally, many are handcuffed and don't recognize their inner selves. The Middleburg Heights Branch is part of the city's campus of buildings – which includes City Hall and the Community Center – all conveniently located near Interstate 71. The branch is situated at the edge of a tree-lined parkway, and the surrounding landscape provides a serene setting for visitors.
The Children's Room at the Middleburg Heights Branch is named for E.B. White, the popular author of Charlotte's Web, Stuart Little, and other children's books. White not only gave his consent and approval, but sent various memorabilia connected with his writings. These are permanently displayed in the library.

Members of the Friends of the Middleburg Heights Library may preview a book sale on Thursday, February 7, children of Friends Members 6:00 - 6:30 PM and Friends Members 6:30 - 8:30 PM.
Seniors Only book sale on Friday, February 8, 1:00 - 3:00 PM.
The book sale is open to the public on Saturday, February 9, 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM.
The Friends will host a dollar bag sale on Sunday, February 10, 1:00 - 4:00 PM (audio books and DVDs are a dollar each).

The original Friends of the Middleburg Library group formed in the fall of 1966 to help show support for a new library. This included issuing "Friends of the Library" cards at the annual Labor Day community picnic. The Friends group continues today, made up of area residents who wish to support their local public library and help realize the library's potential as a dynamic community resource.
The Friends meet on the first Wednesday of every other month at 7:00 PM. The next meeting is Wednesday, March 6, at 7:00 PM.
